400 Writers from nine Countries will Attend the Kerala Literature Festival Beginning January 11 | Frontlist

Around 400 writers from nine nations will gather on the beach in Kozhikode, Kerala, for the seventh edition of the Kerala Literature Festival (KLF), which begins on January 11.

The four-day festival, organised by the DC Kizhakemuri Foundation and co-sponsored by DC Books, will feature a diverse range of authors, actors, thinkers, and activists participating in sessions and discussions on a variety of topics such as science and technology, literature, art, gender, cinema, culture, and the environment.

"The seventh edition of the Kerala Literature Festival is expected to be a grand celebration of literature and culture, with Turkey serving as the honorary guest country, showcasing their literature and art forms." "The other participating countries will be the United Kingdom, Wales, Spain, Japan, the United States, Malaysia, Spain, and France," stated the organisers in a statement.

Among the authors attending the event are politician-author Shashi Tharoor, historian William Dalrymple, Booker Prize-winner Arundhati Roy, ad guru Prahlad Kakar, former diplomat-politician Mani Shankar Aiyar, and award-winning playwright-author Catherine Ann Jones.

In addition to literary workshops, the festival will feature concerts by TM Krishna and Vikku Vinayakram, as well as surbahar and sitar performances by Padmabhushan Pandit Budhaditya Mukherjee.

KLF, billed as one of Asia's greatest literature festivals, claimed 5 lakh visitors in its most recent edition.
